HCAS uses a Trauma Informed Care Approach as a lens to understand how equity, diversity, and inclusion are understood and enacted by using a person-centered process. We believe that equitable workplaces are trauma-informed workplaces, and our approach to advancing EDI provides organizations with an opportunity to think deeply about their mission while being sensitive to employee’s needs. Our approach moves EDI principles from loosely understood buzzwords to essential questions that leaders must ask to ensure their actions towards equity, diversity, and inclusion align with their intentions. This framework provides a necessary process to consider the intersectionality of identities, environments, and systems that contribute to equitable - and non-equitable - dynamics of power in the workplace.
